The task force is chaired by the State Engineer and includes experts in financing, water project construction, water rights, water conservation, and water quality as well as officials who understand drought's impact on agriculture, wildlife, economic development, tourism, and wildfire.
The State of New Mexico still suffers extreme quantity water-related conditions and parts of the state are suffering from severe drought. The Drought Task Froce is looking carefully into how New Mexico can better manage and prepare for such extreme climate conditions.
